It’s Fan favourites & world premieres for Theatre Network’s 49th season at The Roxy

Theatre Network unveils a “best of” season for its 49th year of programming, brimming with artists who bring fresh takes to well-loved Edmonton classics. 

For 2023/2024, Theatre Network’s mainstage productions include POCHSY IV written & performed by Karen Hines of Mump & Smoot fame, the world premiere of WITH BELLS ON! THE MUSICAL with book by Tommy Newman & Devanand Janki, music & lyrics by Tommy Newman, based on the beloved play by Darrin Hagen, and the world premiere of WONDERFUL JOE created & performed by the inimitable Ronnie Burkett, whose premieres at Theatre Network span back to 1990

“People are going to LOVE this season. It’s an all-star lineup of artists who have all cut their teeth in Edmonton over the years,” said Bradley Moss, Artistic Director. “Each of the creators featured this year are at the top of their game—creating memorable, entertaining shows that also get audiences’ hearts and minds turning.” 

Supplementing Theatre Network’s mainstage shows, the company will also host two festivals, including the second iteration of Another F!*#@$g Festival in February 2024 and as well as the annual presentation of NEXTFEST, Edmonton’s emerging artist festival. In addition to the release of the mainstage series, Theatre Network’s will continue to host productions from other companies, indie theatre collectives, and artists as part of its Phoenix Series, including Alberta Musical Theatre’s brand-new musical adaptation of CINDERELLA inspired by 80s music and pop culture, the return Girl Brain Sketch Comedy, and a presentation from Brian Web Dance

Currently, ticket availability for mainstage shows is exclusive to Theatre Network season pass holders. Tickets for POCHSY IV and WITH BELLS ON! THE MUSICAL will be made available to the general public starting from September 5, 2023. WONDERFUL JOE will have its tickets on sale for the general public on December 12, 2023.
