After delighting audiences and earning rave reviews, OH, ANNE! returns in an exciting new co-production with Theatre Network at The Roxy Theatre. The hit musical will run September 17 through October 18, 2026 in Edmonton for a limited engagement.

Inspired by the beloved classic Anne of Green Gables, OH, ANNE! is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud theatrical romp that reimagines the world of Avonlea with a spirited East Coast twist. Fiddles soar, tempers flare, and the red-haired heroine with the unstoppable imagination brings her signature charm, wit, and fiery determination to the stage like never before.

Performed by four extraordinary, high-energy actors portraying dozens of characters, this whirlwind production transforms the stage with lightning-quick costume changes, inventive staging, and playful storytelling. The show’s infectious Maritime-inspired music and lively theatrical style create a joyful celebration of community, friendship, and the enduring spirit of one of Canada’s most cherished literary characters. Adapted and directed by Bridget Ryan, Musical Direction by Lisa MacDougall, Sound Design by Brian Raine and Set Design by Jason Carter.

Jordan Empson

Jordan Empson is an Amiskwacßwùskahikan (Edmonton) artist who recently graduated from the BFA Acting Program at the University of Alberta.  She is a multi-disciplinary artist trained in acting, clown, singing, movement, and stage combat.  They are passionate about movement, and can often be found improvising and exploring interesting physical skills her body can do.  She is also a skilled musician who plays multiple instruments, including but not limited to: guitar, violin, piano, and saxophone.  Jordan is thrilled to be a part of the ensemble, and hopes you enjoy the show!

Emma Ryan

Emma Ryan (she/her) is thrilled to be back with Carter-Ryan Productions in this Canadian classic! She is an actor, director, and photographer based in Amiskwaciwñskahikan and Moh’kins’tsis. Emma holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Alberta and just returned from spending a year in New York working with The Barrow Group. Jorja Polischuk

Jorja is singer-songwriter, actor, musician and producer from Cochrane Alberta, who received her Diploma of Theatre Arts and Diploma of Music from Grant MacEwan University. Jorja is a three time returning performer at the Bella Concert hall for Empowering Minds’ “Live & Unsigned”, and a recipient of the Cochrane Rotary Youth Talent Festival’s “Overall Award Of Excellence” for her original song “Mr. Melody”. Jorja is always writing new original music and is also releasing a musical theatre cover album! She invites you to come join her for a night of showtunes at her album release show at the Aviary in Edmonton on September 17th!

Emma Reynolds

Emma (she/her) is a triple threat artist, singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist. She has just concluded her BFA at Sheridan College for the Musical Theatre Program. Emma released a new single called ‘Nice Guy’ and is working on releasing more music soon. Emma adores collaboration and believes that every creative space should be led with kindness and acceptance. Bridget Ryan

Bridget is the Artistic Director of Carter-Ryan Gallery and Live Theatre (est. 2009) with locations in both Canmore and Banff Alberta. Bridget is the Creative Director of In Search of Christmas Spirit in Banff National Park at Cascade Gardens, as well as the Art in Nature Trail in along the Bow RIver in Banff, Alberta, where millions of people over the pat 5 years have enjoyed these curated experiences. With partner Jason Carter, they have published four children’s books, created three major art installations, opened two galleries, and recently completed filming their first feature film this past year People and Stuff (starring her mom, Maralyn Ryan) coming soon in 2027.  Bridget is a proud graduate of MacEwan Theatre Arts (Distinguished Alumni) and the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music with a BFA in Musical Theatre. From 2004 to 2018, Bridget was Host/Producer on Breakfast Television. She is so unbelievably excited and thrilled to be back in Edmonton to share this show with you!

Set Design/Producer

Jason Carter

Jason is a Woodlands Cree visual artist specializing in contemporary sculpture, painting, illustration, public art, and theatrical set design. A graduate of both NAIT and MacEwan University, where he was named a Distinguished Alumnus, Jason co-founded Carter-Ryan Productions with Bridget Ryan in 2011. His set design credits at the Carter-Ryan Theatre include People and Stuff, The Year of Magical Thinking, Into the Woods, Canada The Musical, Hazy Shade of Winter, and Dolly. Jason is thrilled to bring his design work to OH, ANNE! at The Roxy / Theatre Network and is honoured to help shape the visual world of this bold new production.

Sound Design and Composition

Brian Raine

Brian Raine is a multi-instrumentalist and producer living and working in Edmonton, AB. With a BMus in Guitar performance from MacEwan University, Raine was accepted into the University of Ottawa to take a Master’s in composition studying under John Armstrong.  As as a part-time professor he wrote and taught the curriculum for MUS 3315: Computers and Music before returning to work as a freelance music producer in Edmonton. Along with scoring theatre and film, Raine produces music for others in a multitude of genres and creates music of his own under the moniker Ways in Waves.

Musical Director

LIsa MacDougall

Lisa has played piano since the age of 3 and has been so fortunate and blessed to be a touring and recording artist, musician, musical theatre director and teacher in the music business for over 25 years. Lisa spent 12 years as pianist, background vocalist and music director/band leader with Rita MacNeil. She also toured with Roger Whittaker, jazz vocalist Molly Johnson, and Singer/Songwriter Laura Smith. In 1999, Lisa released a solo album entitled TURNAROUND which earned two East Coast Music Award nominations. Lisa was music director for the award-winning ANNE & GILBERT on Prince Edward Island for 5 seasons, as well as musically directing ten productions, including CATS, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and CHICAGO at Neptune Theatre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Lisa also musically directed, sang and played in the traveling theatre production, DRUM, featuring four cultures of Atlantic Canada. Lisa’s music has taken her around the globe, but she continues to make her home in Edmonton, AB.

As Technical Director, Roxanne brings each production to life through her expert coordination of lighting, sound, and all the behind-the-scenes magic. Her calm presence and creative problem-solving keep every show running smoothly from the first cue to the final blackout. With a deep love for theatre and tireless dedication, Roxanne helps make each performance truly shine. Roxanne CĂŽtĂ© is delighted to be a part of the Carter-Ryan team.  In the past, she has had the pleasure of working with Maggie Tree Theatre, Inside Out Theatre, Thou Art Here, L’UniThéùtre, Good Women Dance Collective, as well as various festival work across the province. Thank you to everyone who has helped piece this magical production together, and to her Stage Management partner in crime, Lindy! Enjoy the show!

Lindy Mullen – Stage Management/Box Office

Lindy wears many hats a with Carter-Ryan, from keeping performances on track to warmly welcoming audiences and making everyone feel at home. She works hand-in-hand with Roxanne on lighting and stage management, playing a vital role in crafting the technical look and feel of each production. Her dedication helps shape the atmosphere both on stage and off, creating a seamless and engaging experience for all.  Lindy is an arts administrator and stage manager based in Canmore. She expresses her heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to support the creative endeavours of the Carter-Ryan Production team. With a passion for storytelling and collaboration, she is continually inspired by the vibrant theatre community she works alongside. Her recent production credits include the 2023 – 2025 Season of Carter-Ryan Productions, In My Own Little Corner (RISER 2023), Identity (Creeasian/City of Edmonton), Re:Construct (Donkey Dog Theatre), and Lakes & Streams (Edmonton Fringe/Naheyawin).
