CATHLEEN ROOTSAERT

Cathleen is a multi-tasking playwright, actor, director and improvisor. Her plays include: MIMI AMOK, AFTER YOU, LEGACY (as part of The Bus Project), MAKE ME and MAMA MIA! ME A MAMA? which received a Sterling Award for Outstanding New Work. Her play ABIGAIL IN TWILIGHT was the recipient of the Alberta Playwriting Award in 2005. Last February HOUSE OF CATS premiered at Teatro La Quindicina, directed by Stewart Lemoine. She continues to perform her own work and was seen doing just that on Ken Finkleman’s THE NEWSROOM and on the Winnipeg Comedy Festival special I’M BECOMING MY MOTHER. Cathleen continues to make things up every Monday night as a core member of the improvised soap opera, DIE-NASTY.
