Help us celebrate the launch of Nextfest 2023 at the Roxy on 124th Street. Join the party and help start the festival off with a bang! The Nextfest Opening Ceremonies features dancing, music, performances, pizza, and the world premiere of the Nextfest 2022 Documentary. This is an all-ages event you won’t wanna miss.

Geoff Samuel (he/him), known by the stage name “GSam” is an engineer/DJ/aspiring producer. Expect to hear a range of Tech House, Hip Hop, and Techno to keep you on the dance floor.

Christina Hollingworth

Christina Hollingworth is a multi talented and award winning sixteen year old singer and songwriter. She has sang at many events including Hometown Hockey, The International Street Performer’s Festival and multiple MMA fights at the River Cree.

Russel Comrie

Russell Comrie is a South African magician recently arrived in Canada. His award-winning magic combines classic sleight of hand with psychology, philosophy, and storytelling.

Captain Falafel

Captain Falafel originated at Backbeat Music on Whyte Ave In 2017. Over the last 5 years we’ve practiced and performed various genres including Rock, Funk & Rap. Currently we are experimenting with Jazz and rock. We’d love to thank our greatest inspirations and mentors, Angela P & JD the jazz menace. We are Finn, Will, Iain & Xavier. We are Captain Falafel.

Velocity Complex

Velocity Complex is an Acro Dance and Cirque studio in Edmonton, AB. Velocity’s Performance Team is a small group of dedicated artists, ranging in age from 7 to 15. We are thrilled to be able to share our passion for both of these exciting and growing art forms.

Jacquie Daniels

Jacquie Daniels is a proudly born Metis Outlaw Country Entertainer. Captivating audiences by vocals, lyrics, guitar solos or the energy and outfits she brings to the stage. Daniels recently won Best Original Song at YYC Rising Star 2022.

Nextfest 2022 Documentary

In 2022, the Nextfest Arts Company returned to live festival after two years of online programming. To celebrate the return to in-person and the return to the Roxy on 124th Street, a documentary was filmed about the people of Nextfest.
