HUMANS NEVER ON STAGE
Written & Performed by Girl Brain
Girl Brain Sketch Comedy loves delving into characters. If you’ve ever seen one of their shows, you know the wacky personas they’re known for! So what better way to workshop new characters than to interview some REAL people! This exciting new project is inspired by the Studs Terkel book Working published in 1974. Girl Brain uses verbatim material gathered from real-life conversations to take a deep dive into new characters! Although each conversation may have started from the question “what do you do for work?” the monologues quickly take a turn into philosophy, pivotal moments, and the untamed life of these anonymous superstars. This workshop presentation includes 6 monologues and an unplugged conversation with the Girl Brain girls about their experience.
