Featured Works

Choreographed by Sarah Wilson

The Pulp Experience and Dirty Fish present: Ready or Not

Featuring Braden Welsh, Aidan Collins, Gemma Lissoway, Sarah Wilson, and Abby Gwilt

“Ready-or-Not centers around the feeling of growing up and losing the sense of wonder and joy that is so innate in children, only to find that with work, one is still able to access that part of themselves, though it may feel different than it did before. This piece is to remind you that while it may take some work, it is never too late to remember how to play. @thepulpexperience on Instagram.

Choreographed by Yuetong Li

Yuetong Li presents Roots: A Tale between East and West

Featuring Yuetong Li and music by Mura Masa, Nöak, and Araatan

In this dance solo, the performer integrates a piece of self-monologue to discuss their loss of sense for belonging and home. Performer would discuss their experience spending childhood in Asia but some teenage era and early adulthood in Canada, learning and adapting to two different perspectives of language, dance, culture and environment. In this solo the performer utilizes street dance movements (hiphop freestyle, popping, breaking, etc) with street dance style influenced music and their own life experience to find a sense of belonging and connect with their own culture being away from their home country.

choreographed by Desirée Keresztes James

Desirée Keresztes James presents: Disrupting Synth Clarity

Featuring Desirée Keresztes James

Disrupting Synth Clarity investigates the blurred boundaries between reality and fantasy. Exploring a playful irony that amplifies the uncanny and invokes the idea of the multiplicity of selves.

Using disorientation as a threshold between clarity and confusion, the body becomes masked, at times concealed or merged with objects, blurring the distinction between subject and environment. This fragmentation of reality amplifies the ambiguity of identity and presence, heightening the experience of being in-between, caught in spaces where identities dissolve and the
surreal takes over.

This piece offers a glimpse into a world where the boundaries of self, time, and space are fluid and uncertain.

Dog Bite Theatre Collective presents: what falls out of our brains and into the pockets of strangers

Featuring Tori Kibblewhite, and Gabi Stachniak

What falls out of our brains and into the pockets of strangers is a collage of memory, the mundane, and trying to remember where you left your phone charger through movement. Weeding through past and present thoughts, conversations, and moments, Tori and Gabi explore the white noise of what a Wednesday feels like.
