An Update from Theatre Network
March 25, 2020
Greetings from the Theatre Network family, providing you with another COVID-19 cancelation update.
Theatre Network has canceled the upcoming production of Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes which was scheduled to run April 21 – May 10, 2020. Rehearsals for the production were to begin next week.
We have also postponed our Spring Fling 2020 fundraiser originally scheduled for April 30, 2020 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott South. A new date for this event is forthcoming.

“There is no mistaking the challenge of this moment. The entire world is faced with uncertainty, and yet we remain inspired by artists, entertained by performers, and are given comfort by those who create; those who give every ounce of their spirit to providing us with an escape, with a reason to have hope, are who we turn to now, when we face our greatest challenges as a global community. Edgar Degas said “art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” As we think about what is important to us at this time, I encourage us all to remember the artists, designers, technicians, and administrators who remind us of our humanity, and remind us that we must rise to the occasion, thinking differently, and acting differently. That is always how we meet challenges in the theatre, we shed off the cloak of who we were, to become who we must be.”
-Jared Tabler, Theatre Network Board President

Through their leadership, the Theatre Network Board of Directors has unanimously decided to compensate the cast and crew of Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes. We have also compensated our part-time front of house and box office staff for scheduled shifts lost and are working on a case-by-case basis with each staff member to best assist them at this time.
“Like all theatres around the world, Theatre Network has been forced to close its doors during the 2020 Covid19 Crisis. Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes has been a very exciting and challenging play to prepare for and there is hope that it can still be produced in the near future with our original creative team intact. Sincere thanks to Bradley Moss and the Theatre Network Board of Directors for striving to make this possible. Stay safe and healthy!”
-Marianne Copithorne, Director of Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes

“One positive thing learned when we had our own crisis in January 2015, where we lost our Roxy Theatre to a fire, is that Theatre Network understands that the only thing that truly matters right now are people. And to the best of our abilities Theatre Network will take care of our staff and artists, because we have experienced that when you take care of your people they return with vigour and in turn take care of the organization. Together we will all get through this.”
-Bradley Moss, Theatre Network’s Artistic & Executive Director
The staff and board at Theatre Network are working together to get through these trying times and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Roxy on Gateway.
