Adopt an Artist
Every year Nextfest draws hundreds of talented young artists from Edmonton and area into the heart 124 Street for an 11-day festival dedicated to the creation and presentation of art in its many multidisciplinary forms, providing emerging artists with the opportunity to challenge themselves and grow into working professionals, and the chance to share their work with eager audiences. Nextfest has been a key stepping-stone for many local artists like — Chris Craddock, and Colleen Brown —who have since gone on to professional careers in the arts and remains a vital part of Edmonton’s festival scene. This year’s festival runs June 6-16, 2013.
The good news? You can help Theatre Network in assuring that artists who participate in Nextfest 2013 not only get a first rate experience in the professional arts world, but also that they are remunerated for their work.
Theatre Network’s Adopt-an-Artist program gives our supporters the opportunity to contribute to the success of Nextfest’s emerging artists. For every $100 donation, this program allows the donor to select an artist in a specific discipline (or even a specific artist) to support. During the festival, donors’ names will be featured in the Roxy Lobby alongside the names of artists they’ve adopted. Donors will also receive a complimentary ticket to their adopted artist’s performance or presentation. All donors will receive a tax receipt for the full amount given.
If you are interested in Adopting an Artist then give The Roxy office a call at 780 453 2440 or drop by The Roxy to pick up an Adopt an Artist donation card.
